Donniboi: This is so close to canon. Dude basically got "convinced" he's a girl, lol.
His parents forced him to live as a girl because his village has some fucked up superstitions about twins of the same sex. He left his village and started bounty hunting to prove his masculinity, but he never actually "learned" masculinity, so he just gave up and decided to act like a girl-- This happens basically out of nowhere, in a really shitty fighting game arcade story. Guilty Gear is many things. Well written is not one of them. It seriously makes Kingdom Hearts look like a Jungian psychology thesis.
This, of course, resulted in a buncha transformers and normie tourists flooding into the games community, who were all so excited to "claim" the character that they didn't realize that kind of plot development makes them all look REALLY fucked up.
What did Daisuke mean by this?
But yeah, I could totally see this character sucking his dick to some sissy-hypno compilation AMV. Pretty hot, tbh.
danthescan: @Donniboi: i mean it's more to the point that people in the queer community were interested and connected with her because THEIR interpretation of it was that her arc was an actual journey of self-discovery where bridget realized "oh, i don't LIKE being masculine, i don't like being male, i don't want to be male, this whole time i've been trying to be male i've just become less happy as time goes on, and while i've found the real me and am not afraid to be who i am, that person is not the son i thought i should've been, or the daughter i was raised to be. it's the woman i grew up to be." whether it's well-written or not i feel like people who are opposed to it don't actually look at it from any perspective other than it being a "retcon" and therefore bad (it isn't), "child grooming" (definitely isn't, not even remotely close to what that actually is and anyone claiming otherwise is insulting actual victims of child grooming) or the fact that bridget is, as of strive, transgender and for one reason or another feel like that's a bad thing, whether it's out of actual transphobia, a preference for the original version of the character that was closer to the typical anime trap character tropes, or even just bullheaded "NO THAT'S NOT WHAT I LIKE" reactionary pushback.
